I reset the flashes to change the lighting and decided to leave the camera trap set-up where it was for the night. The five images in this series are my favourites from the many times the Pine Marten triggered the set-up. I wanted to create a deep forest feel to these images. Along with frame-filling portrait images of wildlife, I like to show them in their habitat. I think the latter type of photo tells much more of a story about the animal, placing them in the context of their home and allows for more creativity. The flash positioned on the other side of the tree to give a backlit spotlight adds a different element to these photos.
